Understood how to compare two replay instances using Archive Compare in MirrorWeb Insight.

Prerequisites

Before starting this guide, please ensure that you have the following information:

  • Log-in credentials to MirrorWeb Insight;

  • Access to the Web Module and archived web instances.

How to navigate to Archive Compare from Web

  1. From the Insight dashboard, navigate to the Web Module and click on the Compare sub-module in the sidebar.

  1. On the next page, start typing the name of the site profile containing the capture instance that you wish to run a comparison against. Select the website you wish to compare on from the list that appears.

  1. Once the Profile is selected, type a full base page URL i.e www.mirrorweb.com that you wish to compare on. Select the relevant URL from the dropdown of results.

  1. In the calendar view, choose a date for comparison.

  1. Repeat steps 2-4 for the comparison page fields and click on Compare to launch the Archive Compare functionality.

How to navigate to Archive Compare from Replay

  1. From the Replay banner, click on the Compare icon at the top right

  1. On the modal that appears, add the details of the Site profile, URL (i.e www.mirrorweb.com), and specific capture for the webpage you want to compare and Update.

  1. On the two archived webpages that appear side-by-side, you can use the slider to reveal different parts and compare the page contents.

  1. To control the settings for comparison, click the cog in the top right of the page.

  1. To overlay the two webpages over one another, drag the slider completely to the right, then go to the Settings cog and reduce opacity to 50%. This will make each page semi-transparent, allowing you to see any differences on the page.

  1. To change the base webpage or the webpage being compared against, click the Update icon next to either page banner.

  1. In the modal that appears, you can select a different site profile, URL, and specific capture. Click on Update to resume comparison.
