Summary
During iMessage mobile-capture provisioning there are two distinct verification steps. First, MirrorWeb sends a verification code to your email to confirm it's you before provisioning starts. Later, when signing in to your Apple Account, Apple may require multi-factor authentication (MFA) — you choose an MFA method and enter the one-time code. This guide covers both, as they appear in the provisioning app on your device.
Prerequisites
An iMessage connection invite (you reach this flow from the link in your activation email).
Access to the email address the connection was created against, to receive the verification code.
Access to your Apple Account's MFA method (for example, your authenticator app or a trusted device), if Apple requires MFA.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Request your email verification code
On the Verify your email screen the app explains:
"We'll send a 6-digit verification code to your email address. Select the button below when you're ready to receive it."
Select Send verification code. If you need another code later, the button changes to Resend verification code.
Step 2: Enter the email verification code
On the Enter your verification code screen, type the 6-digit code sent to your email (the screen shows the masked address it was sent to, and notes that "It can take a minute or two to arrive"). The code is entered across six single-digit boxes and is submitted automatically once all six digits are entered.
Note: If the code is incorrect you'll see an error and can re-enter it; you can also go back and request a new code.
Step 3: Choose your MFA method (if prompted by Apple)
If Apple requires multi-factor authentication during sign-in, the Choose your MFA method screen appears:
"Please select how you would like to authenticate with [provider]."
Select one of the listed methods, then select Continue.
Step 4: Enter your MFA code
On the Enter your MFA code screen, enter the 6-digit one-time code. When the code has been sent to an authenticator app, the screen notes:
"A one-time password (OTP) has been sent to your authenticator app. It can sometimes take a few minutes to arrive. Please enter it below to continue."
Enter the six digits and select Verify.

Note: The email verification code (a 6-digit code sent to your email) and the Apple MFA code are separate things. The email code confirms your identity to MirrorWeb before provisioning; the MFA code satisfies Apple's sign-in requirements.
