Summary
You can add a single identity to the register by entering their core details in the Create identity form. You can also add one or more optional Contacts at the same time, mapping the identity to the accounts they use on specific platforms.
Prerequisites
Login credentials to MirrorWeb Insight
Access to create identities
The person's first name, last name, and primary email address
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Start creating an identity
On the Identities page, use the Create identity button in the top right.
For users with communications admin access, Create identity is a menu with two options: Upload identities and Create manually. Choose Create manually. For other users with create access, Create identity is a direct button that opens the create form.
Step 2: Enter the identity information
Under the Identity information heading, complete the required fields:
First name
Last name
Primary email address — "The contact email address for this identity"
Identity role — select one of Staff, Client, Prospect, or Uncategorized
Step 3: Add contacts (optional)
Under Contacts (optional) — "Create optional contacts for this identity" — you can map this identity to platform accounts. For each contact set:
Contact type — Email Address, Phone Number, Username, or User ID
Contact value — "This corresponds to the contact type"
Platform — select the platform the account belongs to
Use Add Contact to add another contact row, or the remove (X) button to delete a row.
Step 4: Save the identity
Click Create identity. The button shows "Creating..." while it saves, and you are returned to the Identities list on success.
If an identity with the same email address already exists, the form shows an error: "There was a problem creating the identity. Please check an identity with this email address does not already exist."
Notes
Contacts are optional; you can create an identity with no contacts and add them later from the identity's detail page.
After saving, you can edit the profile, manage contacts, and assign the identity to groups from its detail page.
