Summary

From an identity's detail page you can update its profile information (name, email, and role), add and edit its contacts (per-platform account mappings), and delete the identity. You need identity edit access to change the profile, and communications admin access to delete an identity or manage contacts.

Prerequisites

  • Login credentials to MirrorWeb Insight

  • Identity edit access (to edit the profile)

  • An existing identity to edit

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the identity

From the Identities page, click the chevron (>) on an identity's row to open its detail page. The page shows a Profile information panel, a Contacts panel, and an Identity groups panel.

Step 2: Edit the profile information

In the Profile information panel, click the edit (pencil) button, labelled Edit profile. In the Edit dialog, update any of:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Primary email — "The primary contact email address for this identity."

  • Identity roleStaff, Client, Prospect, or Uncategorized

Click Save (the button shows "Saving..." while it saves), or Close to cancel.

Step 3: Add a contact

In the Contacts panel, click the add (+) button. In the Add contact dialog, choose a Contact type (Email address, Phone number, User ID, or Username), enter the value, and select a Platform. Click Add contact.

Step 4: Edit or delete a contact

Each contact row has an edit (pencil) button and a delete (trash) button.

  • Edit opens an "Edit [platform] details" dialog where you can change the contact type and value, then Save.

  • Delete removes the contact immediately.

Step 5: Delete the identity (optional)

If you have communications admin access, a red Delete button appears at the top right of the detail page. Clicking it opens a confirmation dialog: "Are you sure you want to delete this identity? This action cannot be undone." Click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to keep the identity.

Notes

  • The Edit profile action is only enabled if you have identity edit access; otherwise the tooltip reads "You don't have access to edit identities".

  • Adding, editing, and deleting contacts requires communications admin access.
