Summary
Identity groups let you organise identities into logical sets for easier management and bulk operations. On the Groups page you can create a new group, browse existing groups, and open a group to manage its members and details. Creating and editing groups requires communications admin access; group editing also requires identity group edit access.
Prerequisites
Login credentials to MirrorWeb Insight
Communications admin access (to create or edit groups)
At least one identity in your organisation
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the Groups page
Navigate to the Groups page. The heading reads Groups, with the subtext "Manage identity groups for" (or "View identity groups for" if you do not have admin access) your organisation.
If there are no identities yet, the page shows "No identities found..." and prompts you to add identities first, with Add identity and Upload users buttons.
If there are identities but no groups, the page shows "No identity groups..." with a Create group button.
If groups exist, a sidebar lists each group with its member count, alongside the selected group's details.
Step 2: Create a group
Click Create group to open the Create Identity Group dialog. Complete:
Group name — "A unique name for the group"
Group description — "A brief description of the group"
Group identities — "Select the identities to assign to this group". Start typing in the search box to find identities; you can select more than one.
Click Create group (the button shows "Creating..." while it saves), or Cancel to close.
Step 3: Open a group
In the sidebar, click a group to open it. The group page shows a Group Name, Group Owner, and Group Description, and a Members list below.
Step 4: Edit a group
If you have access, an Edit group button appears on the group. Click it to open the "Editing [group name]" dialog, where you can update the Group name and Group description. Click Save (the button shows "Saving..." while it saves), or Cancel.
Notes
The Create group button is disabled if you do not have identity group write access; the tooltip then reads "You don't have access to create groups".
The Edit group button is disabled without identity group edit access, with the tooltip "You don't have access to edit groups".
For adding and removing members, see "How to view identity group members".
