An E3 license on its own is no longer enough to archive Microsoft Teams. You now need either a full E5 license, or an E3 license with a compatible E5 compliance add-on.

This is a Microsoft change, not a MirrorWeb one. It applies to every compliance vendor.

At the time of writing, the following license types allow third-party archiving of Microsoft Teams content:

Microsoft updated the licensing requirements for compliance vendors capturing data from their Teams platform. While an E3 license was previously sufficient, a full E5 license or an E3 license with a compatible E5 add-on are now the minimum requirements to continue archiving this information.

To satisfy these obligations, MirrorWeb can now only capture Teams data for customers that are meeting these specifications. This applies across the industry, regardless of your archiving platform, and is the only circumstance in which Teams can now be captured compliantly.

This is a global change rolled out by Microsoft and reflects no alteration to the MirrorWeb product or service.
