Summary

In MirrorWeb Insight, administrators can send a connection email to a single connection that requires authentication. The email prompts the connection owner to authenticate so that their account can be captured. Depending on the connection's status, the system sends either a request email (for connections awaiting their first request) or a reminder email (for connections that are already pending).

This article covers sending an email to one connection. To send emails to several connections at once, see "How to bulk send connection emails".

Prerequisites

  • Login credentials to MirrorWeb Insight

  • Administrator access (the send action is only shown to administrators)

  • A connection that requires authentication (an OAuth or mobile-capture connection)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the Connections page

From the Management area, open Connection management for your organisation and select Connections in the left-hand sidebar.

Step 2: Locate a connection that requires authentication

Find the connection in the table. The Send connection email action only appears for connections that require authentication; you can use the Status filter (for example Unactivated or Pending) to find them.

Step 3: Send the connection email

In the connection's actions column, select the Send connection email button. The button's tooltip indicates the action: "Send connection request" for an unactivated connection, or "Send connection reminder" for a pending connection. (For connections that are already connected, the action is disabled with the tooltip "Already connected".)

Step 4: Confirm the email was sent

On success, a toast notification appears confirming "Connection email sent successfully". If sending fails, an error toast appears: "Error sending connection request".

Notes

Note: The status determines the email type: a pending connection receives a reminder; other authenticatable statuses receive a request. Sending a request also marks the connection as enabled, whereas a reminder does not.

Note: The same Send connection email action is also available next to authenticatable connections on the Summary page.
