Summary

Search templates are "Saved search templates that can be used to quickly create new immediate and scheduled searches". You save a template from the search form, then manage it from the Templates section, where you can run it, edit it, duplicate it, create a schedule from it, or share it. This article covers creating and managing templates.

Prerequisites

  • Login credentials to MirrorWeb Insight

  • Access to create and manage templates

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Build a search query

On the Search page, build the query you want to save (see How to run a search).

Step 2: Save the query as a template

Click Save template. A modal opens headed "Save new search template".

Step 3: Name and save the template

Enter a Name ("Name must be between 1 and 50 characters") and click Save. On success you see "Your template was saved successfully" with a Go to templates link.

Step 4: Open the Templates section

Go to the Templates section. The list shows columns for Name, Created, and Updated. You can search by name, filter by date, and sort by Newest, Oldest, Name (A-Z), or Name (Z-A).

Step 5: Run a search from a template

On a template, click the Run search from template control (the search icon) to run that template's query immediately.

Step 6: Manage a template

Use the row actions to manage a template:

  • Edit template — open the template to change its query.

  • Open the actions menu (the three-dots / more menu) for Create schedule, Share, and Duplicate template.

When you choose Duplicate template, you enter a New template name (which "must be different from the original template name") and click Duplicate.

Notes

  • Templates save the search configuration, not search results. Running a template runs a fresh search.

  • If you have no templates yet, the list shows "No Templates..." with "It looks like you haven't created any search templates yet." and a New Template button.

  • To share a template or transfer its ownership, see How to share a search template.

  • To create a recurring schedule from a template, use Create schedule in the actions menu. See How to create a scheduled search.
