Written by Alice Jennings

Summary

To use AI-assisted search in MirrorWeb Insight, you can describe what you're looking for in natural language and let the AI assistant generate an appropriate search query for you. This feature helps you quickly create complex searches without needing to know specific search syntax or field names.

Prerequisites

  • Login credentials to MirrorWeb Insight

  • Communications access permissions

  • Access to the Search functionality

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Navigate to the Search page

From the main navigation menu, click Search to access the Communications Search page.

Step 2: Locate the AI search assistant

On the Search page, find the AI assistant input field, typically labeled "Describe what you're looking for" or with an AI icon. This is usually positioned prominently near the top of the search interface.

Step 3: Enter your natural language query

Type your search request in plain English. For example:

  • "Find emails from David Park about insider trading last month"

  • "Show me messages containing material non-public information sent to external recipients"

  • "Look for communications mentioning front running between Sarah Mitchell and James Chen"

Step 4: Generate the search query

Click the Generate or Ask AI button next to the input field. The AI will process your request and create a structured search query.

Step 5: Review the generated query

The AI assistant will populate the search form fields based on your natural language description. Review the generated query to ensure it matches your intent. The AI may fill in:

  1. Keywords or phrases

  2. Date ranges

  3. Sender/recipient fields

  4. Platform filters

  5. Other relevant search parameters

Step 6: Modify the query if needed

You can adjust any of the generated search parameters manually if the AI didn't interpret your request exactly as intended. All search fields remain editable after AI generation.

Step 7: Execute the search

Click Search to run the query and view your results.

Notes

Note: The AI assistant uses your current organization's data structure and available fields to generate relevant queries. It understands common compliance terminology and can map natural language to appropriate search parameters.

Note: You can use the AI assistant multiple times to refine your search. Each generation will overwrite the previous AI-generated parameters, but any manual changes you made will be preserved where possible.

Important: The AI assistant generates queries based on your natural language input, but you should always review the generated parameters to ensure they match your search intent before executing the search.
