How to view and manage risk categories

View, create, and manage risk categories for your organisation.

Summary

Risk categories define what MirrorWeb Insight monitors your archived communications for. In the Risk Management area, the Risks page lists your categories under Your categories and lets you sort them, open each one, and remove a category. You add categories either by working with Mira (the AI risk assistant) or by setting up predefined categories from the Browse template policies library on the same page. Creating a category from your own documentation is done through the Mira chat, not a form on this page.

Prerequisites

  • Login credentials to MirrorWeb Insight

  • Access to the Risk Management area

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the Risks page

In the Risk Management area, go to the Risks page. If you already have categories, a banner reads "Mira is monitoring N categories." If you have none, a welcome panel introduces Mira and a "How it works" section is shown.

Step 2: View your categories

The Your categories list shows each category's name and a status pill: Active, Disabled, or Needs review. Use the sort dropdown to order by "Active first", "Recently updated", "Oldest updated", "Name (A–Z)", or "Name (Z–A)". The list is paginated.

Step 3: Add a category with Mira

To create a category from your own compliance documentation, select Add new category (on the slim banner) or Upload documentation (on the first-run welcome panel). This opens the Mira chat, where Mira helps draft the category. For full details, see "How to use Mira to manage risk documents and drafts."

Step 4: Or set up a category from the template library

Scroll to Browse template policies. Search or filter templates by regulatory context, select one or more (categories already in your organisation are marked Configured), preview a template's detection patterns and regulatory framework, then click Set up selected risk categories to add them.

Step 5: Delete a category

In the Your categories list, click the trash icon (labelled "Delete risk") on the category row to remove it.

Notes

  • There is no separate "Add Category" form, "risk level" field, or inline name/description edit on this page. Categories are created via Mira or the template library, and category settings (such as enabling/disabling and message direction) are changed on the category detail page.

  • When a category has a proposed policy update awaiting review, its status shows Needs review and a "Policy updates require your review" banner links to it. See "How to confirm a risk draft."
