Summary
An instance is a single capture (crawl) of a site at a point in time. When you open a site you see its list of instances, and you can open any completed instance to view its detail, including crawler details and instance data files.
Prerequisites
Access to the Web area of the platform for your organisation.
A site with at least one captured instance.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open a site
From the Sites list, select the site you want to review. The page is headed with the site's name and shows a table of its instances.
Step 2: Review the instances table
The instances table has the following columns:
Instance ID
Archived Date
Size (MB)
URIs
Status
The Status column shows a badge: Completed, In progress, or Unknown.
You can sort the table using the dropdown (options Newest and Oldest).
Step 3: Open an instance
Select View at the end of an instance row to open its detail page. The View button is only enabled for published instances.
Step 4: Review instance detail
The instance detail page shows the site name and capture date, with the following sections:
An overview with Status, Downloaded URIs, and Size (MB).
Crawler details: Crawl started, Crawl finished, Total crawl duration, Crawled with, and Crawler IP.
Crawl Analysis: a mimetype report for the instance, where available.
Instance data: an expandable set of files (Logs, reports, analysis) offering more in-depth data.
Notes
If a site has no instances, the page shows "No instances" with a message that there aren't currently any instances available for that site.
If an instance cannot be replayed, an information banner appears: "This crawl is unable to be replayed. Please contact support for more information".
Replay and Compare options are available on the instance detail page. See "How to replay an archived web page" and "How to compare two archived captures".
