Summary

The Capture Timeline shows all archived captures of a single URL, grouped by year. You reach it from a search result, and you can expand a year to see and open the individual captures for that URL.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Web area of the platform for your organisation.

  • A URL that has at least one archived capture (reached via Web Search or a site's URL search).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the capture timeline

Run a URL search (see "How to search across archived web content") and select a result. This opens the Capture Timeline page.

The page is headed Capture Timeline with the subheading "Timeline of captures for url ".

Step 2: Review captures by year

The timeline lists each year that has captures, with the total number of captures (instances) for that year.

Notes

  • If there are no captures for the URL, the page shows "No captures found" with the message "No captures found for URL ".

  • The capture timeline is also used inside the Compare flow when selecting a capture to compare. See "How to compare two archived captures".
