Upload multiple connections at once using bulk import.

Written by Harriet Christie

Summary

Bulk upload lets you create connections for many users at once from a CSV file. The flow has three steps shown as a progress bar: Select Platforms, Configure, and Upload. After you upload the file, MirrorWeb processes it and emails you a link to preview the import before finalising and creating the connections.

Prerequisites

  • Login credentials to MirrorWeb Insight

  • Admin access for the organisation

  • Licenses for the platforms you want to upload connections for (platforms you aren't licensed for don't appear in the selector)

  • A completed CSV based on the downloaded template

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Start the bulk upload

On the Connections page, click Add connections, then Bulk Upload Connections. If you have a bulk upload already in progress, a "Resume progress?" dialog offers Resume progress or Start new flow. The page is headed Bulk Connection Upload.

Step 2: Select platforms

On the Select platforms step, choose the platforms you want to bulk upload connections for. The helper text notes that if a platform isn't listed, you don't have a license for it. Click Next.

Step 3: Configure connections

On the Configure connections step, complete any platform-specific configuration. Central platforms (email, Microsoft Teams, Slack channels) ask for Scope of capture (Full / Partial tenant access), Global Admin Access (admin email) and Domains. Platforms that need nothing show "No configuration required". Click Next.

Step 4: Download and fill the template

On the Bulk upload connections step, click Download template. The template is "pre-populated with the platforms you have licenses for as columns". Fill it out: "Enter email addresses and mark 'Y' or 'N' for each platform connection. Each platform must have at least one 'Y'." Mobile platforms require a phone number (including country code); iMessage also requires a login type (iCloud).

Step 5: Upload the file

Drag and drop your completed CSV onto the Import from CSV card (or click to browse), then click Upload. Only CSV files are accepted ("Invalid file selected. Please select a CSV file." is shown otherwise). After processing, "we'll email you a link to view a preview of your import, with the option to finalize and create your connections."

Notes

Note: The connections are not created immediately on upload. You finalise them from the preview link emailed to you after processing.
