Summary
After you submit a search, MirrorWeb Insight opens the results page. Results stream in live: you see the search progress while it runs, and matching messages begin to appear in the list as they are found rather than only after the whole search has finished. The page is split into a message list on one side and a reading pane on the other. From here you can sort, change the layout, refine the search, review individual messages, and create exports, templates, or vault entries.

Prerequisites
A completed or in-progress search (see How to run a search)
Permission to view search results
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Watch the search progress
When you submit a search you are taken to the results page immediately. While the search runs, a live status indicator next to the result count shows the current phase:
Preparing search — the search is being set up before it starts running.
Searching — the search is actively running. Where a search spans multiple months, a thin progress bar appears and the indicator's tooltip shows the month being searched and how many months are done (for example "Searching March 2026 · 2/6 months").
Loading results — the search has finished and the final messages are being loaded.
Before any message is opened, the reading pane shows the prompt "Select a message to begin the review process...".
Step 2: Select a message to read
As results stream in, click a message in the list to open it in the reading pane. The result count at the top of the list climbs as more matches are found, and settles on the final total when the search completes. When a search finishes, a short-lived Complete badge appears; if some parts of the search failed it shows a Partial results badge instead.
Step 3: Sort and change the layout
Use the sort control to change the result ordering. You can also switch the list layout between the comfortable and compact views using the layout toggle ("Switch to compact view" / "Switch to comfy view").
Note: While a search is still running, the sort control is locked so results don't reorder under you; it becomes available once the search completes. The layout toggle stays available throughout.
Step 4: Refine the search
Click the Refine search control (the adjustments icon, tooltip "Refine search") to open a drawer where you can adjust your search criteria and run a refined search. Submitting a refine starts a new search and the results page reloads with the new progress and results.
Note: If you do not have refine access, the control is disabled and its tooltip reads "You do not have access to refine searches".
Step 5: Review a message
With a message open, you can take review actions on it. Each action opens a short confirmation where you can add an optional comment, and the outcome is stored permanently in the message's history report:
Mark message as compliant — records the message as compliant.
Mark message as non-compliant — records the message as non-compliant; you choose a reason (Advertising, Risk, or Other).
Escalate message — sends the message to another agent's escalation queue with a risk level (Very low, Low, Medium, High, Very high) and an optional comment. Once a message is escalated, the compliant and non-compliant actions are disabled for it ("This message has been escalated").
Step 6: Act on the results
From the toolbar above the reading pane you can also act on the result set as a whole:
Export the results (see How to export search results).
Save the query as a template.
Save to vault.
These actions stay disabled until the first results have loaded, and "Save to vault" also requires that the search returned at least one message.
Notes
If a search returns no matches, the page shows "No search results" with a New Search button. If the search completed with errors, the message reads "This search completed with errors and did not return any results."
If a result can't be found it shows "Result not found"; if the whole search failed it shows "Search failed"; and if the results can't be loaded it shows "Unable to load results" with Retry and New Search buttons.
Pagination controls beneath the message list let you move between pages of results.
