Summary

Each archived site has a Settings page with two tabs: Overview (read-only profile information) and Web Changes (configuration for change detection, including URL exclusions and text normalization).

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Web area of the platform for your organisation.

  • Web Changes enabled for your organisation (the Settings button appears on a site's instances page only when Web Changes is available).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open site settings

From the Sites list, open a site, then select Settings on its instances page. The settings page is headed with the site name and the subheading "Manage and view your site settings".

Step 2: Review the Overview tab

The Overview tab shows Profile Information under the heading "Profile details and information", including Profile Name, Created on, Primary URL, and Number of instances.

Step 3: Open the Web Changes tab

Select the Web Changes tab. This tab contains the URL Exclusions section and, where available, a Text Normalization setting.

Step 4: Manage URL exclusions

Use the URL Exclusions section to add, edit, or remove URLs that should be excluded from change detection and reporting. For the detailed steps, see "How to add URL exclusions for a site profile".

Step 5: Toggle text normalization (where available)

If your organisation has the Text Normalization setting, use the Enable text normalization toggle. The description reads: "When enabled, text extracted from web pages will be normalized before change detection is performed, reducing false positives caused by common content variations (e.g. timestamps, view counts, etc)." A confirmation message appears when the setting is updated.

Notes

  • The Text Normalization section only appears for organisations where the feature is enabled.
